1 Location: IESP Europe meeting

April 13-14, 2010, at the Oxford e-Research Centre, University of Oxford, UK. The second day of the meeting (April 14th, will run through the day.

Reception on April 12th: There will be a reception at the Ashmolean Museum on April 12th between 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Dinner is on your own.

2 Registration

Please register for Oxford meeting: All attendees to the IESP Workshop need to register for the workshop as soon as possible to coordinate planning

3 Accomodations

Accommodation has been booked for workshop participants at St Anne's College in the centre of Oxford and only a few minutes walk from the workshop venue. See: http://www.st-annes.ox.ac.uk/conferences/introduction.html You DO NOT have to make your own hotel arrangements but you [http://www.oerc.ox.ac.uk/registration-forms/iesp-workshop-registration Upon arrival at St. Anne's College, report to The Lodge. This is where the front door is and taxi drivers know it. You will simply check in using your name.

DO NEED to register] so that the organizers can make them for you. The organizing committee has arranged to pay for the lodging and meals during the workshop for attendees.

4 Transportation

From Heathrow Airport By Bus There is a direct bus from Heathrow Airport to Oxford. The travel time is about 90 minutes depending on traffic. The bus leaves from Terminal 5 and from the Central Bus Station roughly every 30 minutes. See http://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/main.php?page_id=24 for details. Once you reach Oxford Gloucester Green (the last stop) you can take a taxi to St. Anne’s College.

From Gatwick Airport By Bus There is a direct bus from Gatwick Airport to Oxford. The travel time is between 2 and 2.5 hours depending on traffic. The bus leaves from the south terminal lower forecourt (stands 16-19) and from the north terminal bay 4 roughly every hour. See http://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/main.php?page_id=25for details. Once you reach Oxford Gloucester Green (the last stop) you can take a taxi to St. Anne’s College.

Traveling by rail Oxford has excellent rail links from anywhere in the UK in addition to a fast, regular and direct train service from London Paddington. For rail travel information ring +44 (0)8457 484950 or visit the National Rail website. Taxi services are available outside Oxford Train Station entrance to your final destination in Oxford. Traveling by car Oxford suffers from severe traffic congestion and limited parking so we recommend that if possible you use public transport when visiting the City. If you are driving you may like to use one of the Park and Ride facilities around the city. Public parking is available on the Keble Road at a rate of £2 for up to 1 hour or £3 for up to 3 hours.
